Biography
As a resident of Austin, Texas, and Broker/Owner of NextHome Modern, Ken Fox actively enjoys this hip, rapidly growing, naturally beautiful metroplex and has made it his priority to assist homebuyers in finding the perfect fit in lifestyle, amenities and housing and assisting current homeowners with exceptional market presentation + achieving the highest possible value for their properties.
Ken has been in real estate for over a decade attaining over $100m in sales volume and 100+ transactions as a solo-agent, with his previous company, Bay Area Modern Real Estate in Oakland, CA. While selling with Bay Area Modern, Ken became an expert in Eichler homes.
Developer, Joseph Eichler, not only set the standard for mid-century modern architecture in the 1950s, he also had a non-discrimination policy offering new homes to minorities when housing discrimination was legal. Today, more than 11,000 of his homes dot the Northern California region, with their iconic clean lines and Avant-garde architecture.
Ken became the top Eichler REALTOR® in the region and his work gained national attention in niche real estate publications. He was consistently among the top five real estate professionals at his brokerage.
As a fan of modern architecture, discovering the legacy of Frank Lloyd Wright and his contribution to the development of the great modern architects like William Wurster, Richard Neutra, A. Quincy Jones, Roger Lee and developer Joseph Eichler, Ken celebrates such modern conveniences as en suite baths, open floor plans, and heating/cooling efficiencies that would not be prevalent in today’s residential design if these artist were not allow to experiment in home building.
With all his years of experience, 2020 was the right time for Ken to open his own Austin-based brokerage.
Today, Ken’s office, NextHome Modern is located at 1601 East 5th Street #102 in the historic, eclectic, coolest area of East Austin near the Plaza Saltillo MetroRail stop, providing concierge-level service for listing and buyer clients.
From lofts and eco-friendly homes to architectural and mid-century marvels, utilizing his deep knowledge of the residential real estate market, Ken is always happy to connect his tech-savvy, design-conscious, and technology-driven buyers and sellers. In addition to having a Broker License, Ken holds a Bachelor of Arts - Business Administration degree from Dillard University and a MBA from University of New Orleans. Ken is also a member of Austin Board of Realtors, Austin Association of Real Estate Brokers, Austin Luxury Network, National Association of Realtors, and Austin LGBT Chamber of Commerce, and has previous experience in accounting and mortgage lending.
He and his husband, Alex live in Central Austin with their standard poodle and rescue tomcat and own investment properties locally, in New Orleans, and Grass Valley, CA.
